16 JANUARY 2015

Jupiter, Florida (January 15, 2015) – The Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires kicked off the 2015 season this week with a two day test at Palm Beach International Raceway (PBIR). Juncos Racing drivers Kyle Kaiser and Spencer Pigot turned a total of 237 laps, with Kaiser recording the fastest lap in the Mazda MZR-R-powered Dallara IL-15 on the 2.034-mile 11-Turn road course located in Jupiter, Florida.

Starting the season off on a high note, Kyle Kaiser (Santa Clara, California) driving the #18 Juncos Racing car, made an impressive Indy Lights debut by recording the fastest lap in the two day test with a best time of 1:05.2689.

“The Juncos Racing crew spent considerable time preparing for these past two days, and was rewarded with respectable results along with a much better understanding of the car,” said Kaiser. “The car responded well to the changes we made, and I’m looking forward to continuing the momentum into the next test.

The 2014 Pro Mazda Champion, Spencer Pigot (Indianapolis, Indiana) driving the #12 Juncos Racing car, stayed consistent throughout the test running inside the Top-3, recording a best time of 1:05.6357.

“We had a very productive test over the past two days at PBIR,” said Pigot. “The team put a lot of effort into preparing the cars and they ran flawlessly. It’s definitely the best car I’ve driven. Dallara, Mazda, and Cooper Tires have come up with a great formula and it’s a blast to drive. I’m looking forward to getting back in it and continuing our development of the car.”

Juncos Racing Team Owner, Ricardo Juncos, was extremely pleased with the drivers and crew during their first outing as a team in the new Dallara IL-15 and all of the progress they made during the two day test.

“The past two days confirm what an exceptional team we have assembled,” said Juncos. “The chemistry clicked straight away and we were able to make a great deal of progress with our development program. We weren’t focused on lap times, however it was nice to carry over the momentum from last year and end the test on top.”
